TAKE GOOD CARE OF YOUR TIMBER

Here are our tips to help you maintain the beauty and longevity of our beveled flooring. As we are all oak lovers, Bevel Floors is also passionate about helping you show love for oak timber by taking good care of your floors.

TIP 1: USE PROTECTIVE PADS

To protect your floor, ensure that all of your furniture has protective pads. Spending some extra cents on those pads will help a lot in the long run.

TIP 2: BE AWARE OF ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

Sunlight is one of the biggest causes of fade and discoloration, so make sure you limit the damage by using blinds and curtains to reduce sun exposure. Sudden changes in temperature and humidity can lead to floors shrinking and cracking. If you are using an air-conditioner at home, a humidifier can help you avoid these problems.

TIP 3: CLEAN REGULARLY

Give your floor a light sweep once in a while to help prevent dirt and grit from wearing and scratching your floor.

TIP 4: USE RUGS IN HEAVY TRAFFIC AREAS

If there are some areas that you know maybe susceptible to scratches and wear due to heavy traffic, rugs or hall runners would do wonders.

TIP 5: WIRE MOP TO AVOID EXCESS MOISTURE

For ground-in dirt, we recommend you stay away from the general household cleaner cause it may damage the surface protective layer. If possible, use a purpose-specific timber floor cleaner and damp mop to target those hard stains. Don't over-wet your floor, which can lead to moisture imbalance. We would want to avoid expansion and warping at all cost!

TIP 6: REFINISHING IS AN OPTION

If your floors become excessively damaged, consider having those sanding and polishing. Our experts could help you do the job, and return to your home the original sleek, polished timber flooring.
